On Wednesday, 25 May, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the existence of BrainBasket Foundation hosted a Gala Dinner, attended by partners, associates, friends, and donors to the Foundation. At the event were presented the Foundation’s performance, future plans and discussed the proposals of the organization, collaboration and supporting BrainBasket.
Since its launch in 2014, the Foundation has its first important results of operation during 2014-2015 to be proud of. Thus, event has openly presented to stakeholders the learned lessons , outcomes and first markers of impact on the economy from the held activities. At the same time, to it has shown nationwide initiatives that Foundation had nourished and plans to implement by 2020, with respective needs and directions of further development bringing high benefits for the country.
Director of BrainBasket Vladimir Lulka introduced nationwide initiatives that have been developed and launched by the Foundation on the basis of past performance and the country’s needs. So, for today BrainBasket has launched a pan-Ukrainian educational project Technology Nation that allows anyone to study computer programming for free in 25 cities of Ukraine, which will help to facilitate the training of 100,000 new IT-specialists by 2020. Executive director at BrainTV channel Bozhena Sheremeta presented the media project of the Foundation and spoke about the future plans for the development and needs of the channel. The main goal of the channel – to enhance the brand of the Ukrainian IT market within the country and abroad.
Words of support to the Foundation activities have expressed Sam Kingston, COO of Ciklum (the general partner of one of the Foundation’s programs Technology Nation) and Helena Minitch, Director of the Digital Economy, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. On the cooperation experience with the Foundation of donors spoke Ievhen Bystrytskyi, Executive Director of the International Renaissance Foundation and experience on with BrainBasket education have delivered a speech Olga Skidan, Vice President Sourcing of Miratech and Roman Rudiuk, Education manager at Microsoft Ukraine.
In the section of discussing the proposals of the organization activities, cooperation and support of the Foundation ideas for future cooperation have expressed Roman Waschuk, Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine, Christian Dons Christensen, Danish Ambassador to Ukraine, Sigbjørn Litland, First Secretary of Embassy of Norway to Ukraine, Max Nefyodov, Deputy minister of Ministry of Economy and Trade of Ukraine, Petr Chernyshov, President of Kyivstar, Ilia Kenigshtein, Adviser to the Lviv City Mayor, Denis Dovgopoliy, IT-entrepreneur as well as representatives of companies Ciklum, Terrasoft, Miratech, MacPaw, Cogniance, ControlPay, Arzinger and organizations EBA, Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine and others. The event was also attended by representatives of local media.
